The Theodore Trot
The Theodore Trot is an annual memorial running event held in Middleton, MA, on May 2, 2026. The event honors a young child who died in 2021 about one month after his second birthday; he was born without kidneys and lived for two years despite serious medical issues. A star has been named in his memory, referred to as the Theodore Star.
The event is organized as a 2 miles trot through the local neighborhood. The course starts in the Fuller Meadow Elementary School parking lot, follows a paved path into the Brigadoon neighborhood, loops around the neighborhood, and returns along the connecting path to the school parking lot. Runners, walkers, people with strollers, and spectators are welcome.
The event raises awareness and funds for Boston Children’s Hospital, Johns Hopkins, and the Children’s House (Believe in Tomorrow foundation). On-site race day registration is available. The published registration price for the 2 mile trot is $25.27, inclusive of mandatory charges and fees.
The organizers describe the venue as a neighborhood with many family memories and present the race as a way to remember the child, to bring parts of the community together, and to support the listed medical and charitable organizations.
