The Sweet Pea Run
The Sweet Pea Run is a long-standing community athletic tradition in Bozeman, Montana. Organized by the Big Sky Wind Drinkers, this event takes place during the same weekend as the Sweet Pea Festival of the Arts. The event serves as the primary fundraiser for the Big Sky Wind Drinkers, with proceeds supporting scholarships for local high school athletes, community fun runs, and organizations such as THRIVE and the Bozeman Track Club.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 10K (approximately 6.2 miles)
- 5K (approximately 3.1 miles)
- 5K Handcycle (approximately 3.1 miles)
The race caters to both recreational and competitive participants, with cash prizes available for top finishers. Entry is free for children aged 15 and under thanks to local sponsorship. Additionally, the event provides complimentary entries to specific community groups, including Cancer Support Community Montana. The start and finish area is located near East Main Street in Bozeman.
