The Sweet Pea Run

The Sweet Pea Run is a community athletic event held in Bozeman, Montana. Hosted by the Big Sky Wind Drinkers, it stands as one of the oldest running races in the area. The event serves as a liaison for the Sweet Pea Festival of the Arts and takes place during the festival weekend.

Participants can choose from the following distances and categories:

  • 10 km run
  • 5 km run
  • 5 km handcycle

The event is designed to accommodate both competitive runners and families. Competitive participants have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes. Registration is free for children aged 15 and under, while adult registration fees are kept low by making official t-shirts an optional additional purchase.

The race serves as the primary fundraiser for the Big Sky Wind Drinkers. Proceeds from the event are used to fund scholarships for local high school athletes and support various community organizations, including the Bozeman Track Club, THRIVE, and local community fun runs. The event also provides free entries to specific groups, such as the Cancer Support Community Montana.

Pre-race packet pick-up is located at First Security Bank on Main Street in the days leading up to the event. Provisions for race-day pick-up are also available at the start area on the corner of Main Street and Bozeman Avenue for those traveling from out of town. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
