The Stuart Duncan Memorial 5k Run Glenrothes
The event is a 5 km out and back run on a traffic‑free tarmac path (Boblingen Way) in Glenrothes. It is organised to support local charities and good causes under the Stuart Duncan Forever Running Fund. The event date is 01 September 2026 and the field is limited to 250 places.
Rachel House in Kinross, one of the Children’s Hospices Across Scotland network, is named as a beneficiary. The hospice provides short breaks, day visits, hydrotherapy and bereavement support and is located near Loch Leven. All monies raised at this year’s event will be donated to the appeal to fund upgrades at Rachel House.
Registration takes place at The Lomond Centre, Woodside Road, Glenrothes KY7 5RA, which is about five minutes from the start. The centre has ample parking and toilets; changing facilities are not likely to be available. All participants will receive a commemorative award. The first female and first male finishers will each be awarded the Stuart Duncan Memorial Trophy to hold for a year.
Entry conditions include eligibility under Scottish Athletics rules and being physically fit to run 5 kilometres. Entries for those under 18 must be made by a parent or legal guardian. All participants take part at their own risk and the organisers and their associates accept no liability for accidents, injury, loss or damage. Entries are not transferable or deferrable and refunds are only offered if the organisers cancel the race. Competitors must comply with any Covid‑19 restrictions in force on the date of the event. Discounted entry of £8 is available for Scottish Athletics members until 29 August 2026; standard entry is £11. A service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies to each sign up.
