The Stone Wall Snowshoe Event in Mannsville, NY
The Stone Wall is a traditional snowshoe race held on the Winona trails in Mannsville. The event offers mass starts for both distances and follows a well-marked course that emphasizes primitive, off-trail snowshoe racing.
The course follows wooded forest trails with a mixture of groomed trail, packed single track, and virgin snow single track. Racers can expect trees, creeks, stone walls, logs, downed limbs, water holes, steep up and down hills, and the possibility of encountering snowmobilers, skiers, or wildlife. Winter conditions are unpredictable and may include deep snow or blizzard-like weather. Snowshoes are required.
Distances:
- 5K family friendly forest course
- 10K longer course with more off-trail sections
Additional event details include: Registration is online with tiered fees: early $40, after December 1 $45, after January 1 $50; online registration closes January 22 at 7pm.
