Event Overview
The Stein Dash is a themed running event held in Puyallup, Washington, coinciding with the Oktoberfest NW celebrations. Participants navigate a course that integrates traditional road racing with beer consumption stations. The event includes a main race for adults and a specialized shorter run for children.
Race Categories
- 5K: A 3.1-mile run featuring three "Beer Zones" along the course where participants fill their steins with different beers.
- Kids 1K Rootbeer Run: A run for children aged 12 and under, featuring a root beer "chug" station at the halfway point.
Participant Amenities and Logistics
The course for the adult race includes three distinct stops where runners can sample beer while the race clock continues to run. All participants in the adult race receive a commemorative tasting stein, an event shirt, and a bib number. The race utilizes a corral start system to manage the flow of runners through the beverage stations.
The children's event is open to those 12 and under, though the root beer chug activity is specifically highlighted for those 10 and under. Registered children receive a special event shirt, a stein, and root beer. Children registered for the root beer run are also permitted to accompany their parents during the adult portion of the event.
The finish line is situated to lead participants directly into the Festhalle at Oktoberfest NW. Race registration includes free entry into the Oktoberfest grounds, where attendees can find food, football broadcasts, and various activities such as weiner dog races.
