Event details
The Springbank Sprint is the 5th annual edition, held on April 4, 2026, at Springbank Park near 1205 Commissioners Road West, London, Ontario. The course uses paved multi-use pathways alongside the Thames River and is closed to vehicular traffic. The main running distances are:
- 5 km (New Era Grafix 5k)
- 10 km (BackRoads Brews + Shoes 10k)
- 5 km walk (walkers only)
- 10 km walk (walkers only)
- 50 metres kids' run
- 100 metres kids' run
- 1 kilometre kids' run
The 5 km, 10 km, and 1 km kids' runs are out-and-back routes. The 50 metre and 100 metre kids' runs are short point-to-point routes. Organizers note the route may change because of the Springbank dam decommissioning project.
Logistics and extras
The 5 km and 10 km runs are chip-timed by Chiptime Results; kids' runs are untimed fun runs. Aid stations will offer water around the 2.5 km mark and at the 5 km and 7.5 km marks for 10 km runners. Portable and public washrooms are available near the start/finish and on the 10 km course. Adult participants receive an event shirt and a 5th anniversary medal; kids receive a finisher medal and bib. Photos will be available free to download. A portion of each 5 km and 10 km registration is donated to the Children's Health Foundation; the fundraising goal is CA$5,000 and current raised amount is CA$0.00. There are no refunds; race credit is available under the event refund policy. Sponsors include BackRoads Brews + Shoes, Frigid Recovery, Little Vikings Sports Camp, and New Era Grafix.
