5th Annual Springbank Sprint
The Springbank Sprint celebrates its fifth anniversary edition at Springbank Park in London, Ontario. The event utilizes the flat, multi-use paved pathways running alongside the Thames River. The entire route is closed to vehicular traffic to ensure participant safety. The courses for the primary distances are designed as out and back routes.
Participants can choose from a variety of event distances:
- 10 km (running or walking only)
- 5 km (running or walking only)
- 1 km (kids' run for ages 7-15)
- 100 metres (kids' run for ages 0-10)
- 50 metres (kids' run for ages 0-10)
The 5 km and 10 km running and walking events are chip-timed, while the shorter children's distances are organized as non-timed fun runs. Aid stations providing water are located at the 2.5 km mark for all participants, with additional stations at the 5 km and 7.5 km marks for those on the 10 km course. Public restrooms and portable toilets are accessible near the start and finish area.
All adult participants receive an event shirt and a custom 5th-anniversary finisher medal. Children receive a race bib and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in the 5 km and 10 km runs across male, female, and non-binary categories, and to the top overall finisher in the walking events. A portion of registration proceeds supports the Children's Health Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
