THE SOUNDVIEW 5K - Soundview Park, Bronx
THE SOUNDVIEW 5K is a 5K (5000 meter) race held inside Soundview Park in the Bronx, NY. The paved course is described as flat and fast and includes a prominent hairpin turn. The route passes through an urban green space with playgrounds, soccer and baseball fields, and an amphitheater, and it runs alongside the Bronx River.
The event offers multiple participation options: Elite, Community, and a Virtual entry. The race uses a waved start format with separate competitive and community waves. Walkers and parents with strollers may register in the Friends and Family wave; walkers are allowed a 1 hour 50 minute completion window for the 5K distance.
Prizes are planned for first place male and female finishers in each wave. Finisher medals will be provided to participants. Age group awards will be presented to the top male and female in these groups: 17 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over.
Bibs will be distributed on race morning at Soundview Park and pins will be supplied. A bag check area will be available with volunteer staff. Post race refreshments will include water and fruit for registered participants. The event is directed by an RRCA certified race director.
