The Signal Run - You Are Not Alone
The Signal Run is a 32 mile movement dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Organized by Awareness Warriors Foundation, the event centers on carrying distance to remember people who have been lost and to stand with those who are still fighting. The event is presented as a movement rather than a race.
Participants join at designated points along US-83 and progress southbound toward the Zapata County Courthouse in Zapata, Texas. Primary groups converge near the "Welcome to Zapata, Texas" sign before continuing to the courthouse. A 1K walk begins closer to the finish line so the local community can join the final stretch.
Distances offered include:
- 32 Mile (Core Group)
- Full Marathon (26.2)
- Half Marathon (13.1)
- 10K (6.2)
- 5K (3.1)
- 1K Walk (Final Mile)
This is a staggered endurance event with multiple start locations. Each start point will be clearly marked with The Signal Run signage, and volunteers and support vehicles will be present at designated locations. The event is listed as free of charge and the refund policy states no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
