The Final Lap 5K Run & Walk is a 5-kilometer running and walking event scheduled for September 5, 2026, at the Zapata County Fairgrounds, 405 W. 23rd Ave, Zapata, TX 78076. The event includes music and refreshments and is described as a 5000-meter run and walk.
Entry options include preregistration and same-day registration. Preregistration is listed at $25.00 and same-day registration at $30.00. A shirt is guaranteed for participants who register by August 23; registrations after that date may not receive a shirt or the requested size.
Awards are given to overall male and female winners in the form of trophies. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age category. The age categories for both male and female competitors are 10 and under; 11-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 and over.
