The Ship Inn Shuffle
The Ship Inn Shuffle is a trail running event held in Sewerby, Bridlington. The course follows an out and back route along the North Yorkshire coast. Runners start on the cliffs at Sewerby and pass through Danes Dyke on their way toward Flamborough. The terrain consists of a mixture of fields, woodland, and coastal trails. The route is undulating and includes various steps and stiles.
The event offers several distances:
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
A 6.5-hour cut-off time applies to all distances. The course is signposted and supported by marshals. Drink and feed stations are positioned approximately every three miles, offering water and food to participants. As part of a cup-less initiative, participants are requested to bring their own reusable cups or bottles. Downloadable GPX files are available for navigation, as there may be unmarshalled road crossings and junctions.
Registration and the start/finish area are located behind the Ship Inn. Participating runners receive a meal at the end of their event, which can be collected from the pub or an onsite food van, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. Limited parking is available behind the pub for a cash fee, with additional council-managed parking nearby.
The races are licensed by the Trail Running Association. Rules regarding headphones are in place for safety; large over-ear headphones are prohibited, while bone-conducting or "one in one out" earpieces are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
