Event details
The MTC Severn Plod Ultra is a point-to-point ultramarathon held on 9 July 2026. The route starts at Mid Wales Art Centre, Maesmawr, SY17 5SB, and finishes at the Premier Inn in Shrewsbury, SY1 1PG. The course distance is 48 miles with approximately 650 m of ascent and 581 m of descent. This is the 10th edition of the event. The published course record is 7:27:00.
The route runs away from and then alongside the River Severn, joining the Montgomery Canal Walk and passing landmarks such as Pwll Penarth Nature Reserve, Offa’s Dyke Path and the Breidden Hills before reaching Shrewsbury. The organiser strongly recommends using the supplied GPX files for navigation as much of the route is not signed and sections of the Severn path can be overgrown.
