Castle 2 Castle #Ultra
The Castle 2 Castle Ultra is a point to point ultra marathon scheduled for 13 March 2027. The route starts in the grounds of Powis Estate in Welshpool and finishes at Caffi Wylfa in Chirk. Race headquarters are in Welshpool town centre near multiple car parks at Broad Street, SY21 7JQ.
The event distance is 32 miles. The course combines flat fast paths with undulating public footpaths, some challenging inclines and notable views. Organisers plan two staffed water and food stations approximately around mile 11 and mile 21. Finishers receive a plate and goodies at Caffi Wylfa. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers.
Minimum age to enter is 20 years. A shuttle bus option is offered from Chirk so runners may leave cars near the finish; a coach option is also available from Chirk for a fee and coach passengers have access to nearby parking. Race headquarters are a short walk from several town car parks.
