Rhayader Round the Lakes 2027
Rhayader Round The Lakes comprises two road races based in Rhayader, Powys, taking place in March 2027 and routed through the Elan Valley (LD6 5BU). The event has been held for over 40 years and is organised by volunteers. A race licence has been applied for.
Both courses run on open roads. The longer route is 30 km and passes through higher, exposed sections of the Elan Valley countryside; the organiser notes the route is challenging and exposed to weather. The shorter route is 10 km and travels out to the Elan Valley and back to Rhayader town.
Entry fees listed for the event are £30.00 for the 30 km and £15.00 for the 10 km. The organiser specifies a cut-off for transfers and entries of 12:00 on Friday 13 February 2026, and states there are no refunds and no deferrals.
Race numbers and timing chips are distributed from Rhayader Leisure Centre, with pickup offered on Friday 6 March (evening) or on race day during a morning collection window. The races are described as making a contribution to the local economy through visitor spending in Rhayader and the Elan Valley.
