Event overview

Reservoir Roundabout is an annual walking or running challenge held on Saturday 10 January 2026 at Elan Valley Visitor Centre, Elan Valley, LD6 5HP. The event takes place across open upland terrain in and around the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The route is waymarked in parts and requires map reading skills.

Entry, fees and organisation

Online entries are open from 6 October 2025 until 4 January 2026. The published entry fee is £20.00 and there are no on-the-day entries. The event is organised and staffed by volunteers and proceeds go to local charities. The car park at the visitor centre charges £3.00.

Route notes and requirements

The advertised distances are approximate and the organisers reserve the right to change the route for forestry, farming or construction reasons. Parts of the route cross private farms; gates must be left as found. A map and a GPX file of the confirmed route will be emailed to competitors during the week before the event. Entry requires a kit check and participants agree to carry essential equipment: an OS map (Landranger 147 or Explorer 200), compass, whistle, torch, first aid kit including a survival bag, waterproofs, sufficient food and drink, warm clothing and proper footwear.
