Event overview

Reservoir Roundabout is an annual walking or running challenge held in the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The event starts and finishes at Elan Valley Visitor Centre, Elan Valley, LD6 5HP. Routes cross open upland terrain and are waymarked in parts; map reading skills are required. The advertised distances are approximate and the organiser may change the route for forestry, farming or construction reasons. Sections of the route cross private farms with permission for the event day only.

Entries open Monday 6th October 2025 and close Sunday 4th January 2026. The entry fee is £20.00. There are no on-the-day entries. The event is organised and staffed by volunteers and proceeds go to local charities. The organiser does not publish results and describes the event as not a race.

A confirmed route map and GPX file will be emailed to competitors in the week before the event. Entry includes a kit check, some drinks and refreshments, and a certificate for finishers. Participants must carry essential equipment including OS map Landranger 147 or Explorer 200, compass, whistle, torch, first aid kit including a survival bag, waterproofs, enough food and drink, warm clothes and proper footwear.
