Event overview
Reservoir Roundabout is an annual walking or running challenge held in and around the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The event takes place at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre, Elan Valley, LD6 5HP. The route covers open upland terrain with sections that are only partially waymarked, so map reading skills are required. A confirmed route map and a GPX file are emailed to competitors during the week before the event.

Entry fee is £20. The visitor centre car park charge is £3. Entries open on Monday 6th October 2025 and close on Sunday 4th January 2026. There are no entries on the day. At the time of this listing there are 137 participants entered. The organiser advises that the advertised distances are approximate and the route may be changed because of forestry, farming or construction works.
Rules, kit and other notes
This is not a race and results are not published. Entry requires a kit check and participants agree to carry essential equipment, including a map (OS Landranger 147 or Explorer 200), compass, whistle, torch, first aid kit with survival bag, waterproofs, food and drink, warm clothes and proper footwear. Parts of the route cross private farms under temporary permission; gates should be left as found. The event is organised by volunteers and proceeds go to local charities.
