The Sedalia Beer Mile
The Sedalia Beer Mile is a timed one-mile race held in downtown Sedalia at 700 S Ohio Ave and presented as part of The Local Tap's Oktoberfest. The standard format requires participants to run four laps of a quarter mile and consume one 12-ounce serving of beer before each lap, for a total of four beers. The organizer also offers a root beer mile, a nonalcoholic beer mile, and a gluten free cider mile. There is an option to form a relay so that teams can share the distance and beverage portions.
Awards are provided for overall male and female finishers through third place. The event features 4 Hands Brewing Company. The stated primary goals are enjoyment and raising money for The Boys and Girls Club. ID is required for participants using the alcoholic options.
Registration opens July 8, 2026 and closes October 17, 2026. The registration fee is $45. The race is scheduled at the start of Oktoberfest activities in downtown Sedalia and is one item among a day of local events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
