The Runner's High 5K
The Runner's High 5K is a community running event created to honor a friend who died after struggling with addiction. The event aims to provide remembrance, raise awareness about substance use, and support people in recovery. All proceeds go to The Potters Recovery Center to fund care and resources for individuals battling addiction.
The event offers two distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- One mile
Registration fees are listed by distance and age group, with separate pricing for adults and participants 12 and under. The registration package includes a T shirt, a medal, and a light breakfast consisting of granola bars and bananas. Medals are given to participants as they cross the finish line. Water and a light breakfast are provided near the starting area.
The 5K course is described as flat in the east to west direction with a slight incline heading south to north. Participants may walk instead of run. Leashed dogs are permitted and pushing strollers is allowed. Event amenities include on-site vendors and a DJ for musical entertainment. Parking is available on site at the park east of the starting line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
