Event overview
The Rugged Raccoon Night Race takes place on May 2, 2026 at Wildwood Conservation Area in St. Marys, Ontario. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and is organized by Happy Trails Racing. The course runs on trails around Wildwood Lake and includes mud, rocks, roots, some climbs, long flat sections, and lake views. Both day and night running options are offered. Night runners are required to carry a headlamp or flashlight (minimum 100 lumens; 200 lumens or more is recommended), with a headlamp strongly encouraged.

Distances offered:
- 10 km out-and-back on the route introduced in 2023
- 25 km single loop (course distance is listed as about 24 km)
- 50 km double loop of the 25 km course (approximately 48 km)
There are four full aid stations on the course at approximately 4.5 km, 10 km, 15 km, and 20 km, stocked with water, electrolyte drink, PB&J, and snacks. The event is cup-less; runners must bring a collapsible cup or bottle for aid stations. Race inclusions include a shirt (unisex or women's cut), a small race bib, chip timing, race photos, and a medal. Camping is available at Wildwood with a group site. The race supports Ontario Nature and its Nature Guardians Youth Program. Refund policy: entrants receive a 100% race credit if they cancel more than 30 days before the event; cancellations within 30 days are not accommodated, and bib transfers are allowed up to 5 days before the race.
