Persistence Backyard Ultra
The Persistence Backyard Ultra is an affiliated backyard ultra held on August 1, 2026 at Eco Park, 15889 Medway Road, Arva, Ontario, Canada. The race is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and a portion of registration fees is donated to the Children's Health Foundation.
The format requires runners to complete an hourly loop of 6.7056 kilometres. That loop is made by running two consecutive laps of an approximately 3.36 kilometre circuit. The course stays close to race headquarters and includes crushed stone trail, some grass, and a dirt road. The Eco Park is a private facility and the course will not be open for running before race day.
The event is capped at 67 participants and there will be no waitlist. Affiliated backyard rules apply; each runner may start with up to two crew members. Spectators are not permitted. Race bibs must be worn on the front and visible at all times, and runners should inform officials if they withdraw.
There will be no official timing; a runner must return to the start area before the hour expires to continue. Medical staff will be on site and may withdraw a runner for safety reasons. Participants are required to bring their own food and drinks; the race will provide some hydration options. Alcohol is not permitted on site.
