Rosebud Marathon

The Rosebud Marathon covers the final 26.2 miles of the Rose of the Shires Ultra, running through the closing section of the ultra route in Northamptonshire. The race starts on Ashton Road in Hartwell and follows trails, roads and canal towpath toward the event area at Brixworth Country Park.

The course terrain is described as 14 miles of cross country trails, 10.4 miles of roads and 1.8 miles of canal towpath. Elevation change is listed as +1241 ft (+378 m) gain and -1308 ft (-399 m) loss. Two staffed checkpoints are on the route, at 9.5 miles in Gayton and 17.7 miles in Nobottle, offering water, snacks and Go Beyond Fruit Cake. A GeoTracks GPS tracker provides real time tracking with frequent updates.

Transport to the race start is available from Brixworth Country Park for a small fee and parking is available at Brixworth Country Park. Bags may be stored at the finish or kept in a vehicle. The event enforces an over 18 age limit and lists mandatory kit items including trail shoes, mobile phone, water bottle, survival blanket, waterproof jacket, whistle and headtorch.
