THE ROC Trilogy 2026 - Wales information
THE ROC Trilogy is a multi-discipline event in the United Kingdom that combines an open-water swim, a bike leg and a mountain run that includes an ascent of Snowdon. Transitions are split between a beach area near Abersoch (T1 and T4) and Hafod y Llan at the foot of Snowdon (T2 and T3). Competitors receive a drawstring bag at registration for their Mountain Kit, which is secured overnight and made available at T2; the bag should contain full waterproof body cover with hood and trousers, hat or buff, gloves, a water bottle, high-energy snacks, a foil blanket, high-factor sun cream and a whistle, with running or trail shoes kept outside the Mountain Kit bag.
Wetsuits are mandatory for the swim and British Triathlon Federation rules determine swim distances; if the sea temperature is below 11 degrees the swim may be replaced by a 3 km trail run. An ankle tag timing chip records individual times including the Snowdon summit and transition times. A 4 km Snowdon checkpoint enforces a cut-off: competitors who do not reach it by the published checkpoint time will be directed to return and will receive a different finish medal. Competitors must be 18 or over and non-affiliated athletes must purchase a day license at registration. Prizes, finishers' medals, water and light sustenance are provided, and organisers may amend the course or event details as required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
