The ROC Triathlon

The ROC Triathlon takes place August 21-22, 2026 at Durand Eastman Beach, 1303 Lake Shore Blvd, Rochester, NY 14617. The event is organized by the Rochester Area Triathletes and has been held since 2010.

The event program includes a shallow open-water swim, a bike course run on roads closed to traffic, and a run along Lake Ontario and Seabreeze shorelines with crowds lining the pathway. Multiple race formats are offered across the two days to accommodate different competition types and ages.

Events listed for the weekend include Intermediate Triathlon, Sprint Triathlon, High School Sprint Triathlon, Intermediate AquaBike, Athena / Clydesdale Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Duathlon, a 5K Run, and a Kids Splash-n-Dash. Some events list age eligibility; for example, the sprint and intermediate races show open registration for ages 18 to 99, and the high school sprint is open to ages 12 to 17.

The ROC is USAT-sanctioned and provides qualifying slots for the National Championships for Sprint and Intermediate distances. Division and award structures include High School, Age Group categories in five-year bands, Athena and Clydesdale classifications (Athenas defined as females over 165 lbs and Clydesdales as males over 225 lbs), plus top-place recognitions in duathlon, aqua-bike, and the 5K run.
