Rochester Ugly Sweater 5K
The Rochester Ugly Sweater 5K returns for its ninth annual edition on December 5, 2026. The 2026 event takes place at a new location in Webster, New York, situated at North Ponds Park, also known as Charles E. Sexton Park. This event serves as a benefit for the Friends of Webster Park.
Participants can choose between several participation formats:
- 5K Running Race (Team Santa or Team Grinch)
- 3.1 Miles Yeti Walk
- 3.1 Miles Virtual Race
Individuals registered for the 5K running categories receive a custom long-sleeve shirt and a finisher medal. The Yeti Walk is a new addition for 2026, where walkers receive a custom winter beanie and a finisher medal. Total registration for the walk begins at the same time as the running events.
The virtual race options allow participants to complete a 3.1 miles distance at any point during the month of December. Virtual participants are required to submit their times upon completion, and those unable to attend the local packet pickup will have their race materials and finisher medals mailed to them.
An ugly sweater contest is held alongside the athletic event, with prizes awarded for specific criteria. Top overall finishers and age group winners also receive awards. Following the race, a gathering takes place at the Mary Wee Pub in Webster, featuring food and drink specials for attendees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
