Event Overview
The ROC Indoor Triathlon takes place on March 28, 2026, at the Louis Wolk Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Rochester. The event features two categories: an Indoor Triathlon for ages 13 to 99 and a Kids Indoor Triathlon for ages 7 to 12.
Event Format
This is a timed, indoor triathlon completed in sequence: swim, bike, run. The total event time is 45 minutes. Awards are determined by an average ranking across all three disciplines. Each discipline lasts for 15 minutes:
- Swim: Athletes share lanes in a 5-lane lap pool and swim as many completed laps as possible within the time.
- Bike: Participants use stationary bikes, adjusting resistance to increase wattage and distance.
- Run: Athletes run on calibrated treadmills.
A transition period of 5 minutes is allocated between each discipline. Heats consist of 10 athletes starting 20 minutes apart. Volunteers monitor and record results for each segment.
Awards and Post-Race
A post-race party and awards ceremony are held on-site at the JCC. Numerous awards are presented, including Overall Top 3, Age Group winners, and special category awards like Best Swim ("the Dolphin"), Best Bike ("the Cranker"), and Best Run ("the Cheetah").
