Event details

The ROC Indoor Tri takes place on March 28, 2026 at the Jewish Community Center, 1200 Edgewood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14618. The event includes an Indoor Triathlon and a Kids Indoor Triathlon. The Indoor Triathlon registration fee is $32.80 (includes $2.80 fee). The Kids Indoor Triathlon fee is $11.60 (includes $1.60 fee). The Indoor division is open to ages 13 to 99. The Kids division is open to ages 7 to 12. Registration closes on March 27, 2026.

Format and awards

The competition is a sequential triathlon of swim, bike, then run, with each discipline timed. Each discipline has a 15 minutes effort: swim in a 5-lane lap pool (two athletes share a lane; only completed laps count), spin on calibrated stationary bikes, and run on calibrated treadmills. If weather permits, the run may be replaced by an outdoor 1.5-mile out-and-back on the canal path; that decision will be made in advance. Transition time between disciplines is 5 minutes, and total race time is 45 minutes.

Heats contain 10 athletes. Volunteers will monitor and record laps, bike distance, and treadmill distance; athletes may also help count for others in waves. Tie-breakers are decided by total kilowatts recorded on the stationary bike. Awards include overall top 3, spirit of the race, decade age groups, most-improved, best swim, best bike, best run, slowest transition, and a middle-place award.
