The River Run : Simsbury, CT
The River Run takes place on September 26, 2026 in Simsbury, Connecticut, at 22 Iron Horse Blvd. The event features certified road races and a set of children's races on a very flat course that runs along smooth roads bordering parks, the Farmington River, farms, and residential neighborhoods.
Race offerings include:
- 5K
- 10K
- Kids Run (1 mile and 1/2 mile)
The 5K and 10K are USATF certified and use gun time with timing chips on race bibs; final results are posted online. A free performance shirt is included with 5K or 10K pre-registration, subject to availability. Entry fees for the 5K and 10K are tiered by registration date; the kids race is free. All registration fees are non-refundable.
Early packet pickup is available the day before the race at the Ticket Depot adjacent to the Iron Horse Playground. Parking is provided in the commuter lots along the west side of Iron Horse Boulevard between Drake Hill Road and Phelps Lane. Strollers, pushers, and dogs are permitted but should start toward the rear of the field.
Age divisions are provided for awards and pint glasses are awarded to overall winners and top age-group finishers. The event is hosted by the Simsbury-Granby Rotary Club and proceeds support local community projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
