Events
The event features three race options: a USATF-certified 5K, a USATF-certified 10K, and a Kids Run. The children's race includes distances of one mile and half a mile and is free to enter.
Course
The course for the 5K and 10K is described as very flat and follows smooth roads. The route passes by parks, the Farmington River, farms, and residential areas.
Registration & Fees
Registration fees increase as the event date approaches. A free performance shirt is included with pre-registration for the 5K or 10K, subject to availability. All registration fees are non-refundable, and registration is available on the day of the event.
Event Details
Early packet and t-shirt pickup is available the day before the race at the Ticket Depot near the Iron Horse Playground. Parking is located in commuter lots along Iron Horse Boulevard, a short walk from the start and finish areas. Dogs on leashes, strollers, and push-rim wheelchairs are permitted, with participants asked to start towards the rear.
Awards & Post-Race
Awards are given to overall winners and the top three finishers in various age divisions, with custom pint glasses as prizes. A post-race party includes food from local vendors, beer (ID required), and music. The event is organized by the Simsbury-Granby Rotary Club, with all proceeds going back to the community.
