The River Run - Simsbury, CT
The River Run is a community road race held on September 26, 2026 in Simsbury, Connecticut, with courses that start and finish at the Simsbury Meadows. The event includes certified 5K and 10K courses and separate children’s races. The event is hosted by the Simsbury-Granby Rotary Club as a fundraiser with proceeds returned to the community.

The 5K and 10K courses are described as very flat on smooth roads bordering parks, the Farmington River, farms, and residential areas; the route crosses Drake Hill Bridge. Chip timing is used with chips attached to race bibs and final results posted on EmpireTiming.com/2024. Age divisions are listed for awards and overall winners and top three in each age division receive awards at the post race awards tent. Custom pint glass awards are given to overall winners in the 5K and 10K.
Additional event details include early packet pickup at the Ticket Depot adjacent to the Iron Horse Playground, parking in commuter lots along the west side of Iron Horse Boulevard between Drake Hill Road and Phelps Lane, a post race party with food and music, and that registration fees are non refundable. Kids receive a T shirt, a finisher certificate, and YMCA medals; parents must register children and sign a waiver prior to the start.
