Together We Run for Education Charity Road Race
Together We Run for Education is a community run and walk at East Hartford High School, 869 Forbes Street, East Hartford, CT. The event includes a road race and a track walk to raise funds for scholarships, teacher and staff mini grants, and mentoring and networking programs for East Hartford Public Schools.
The 5K course is a flat, loop-style route contained to the school campus. Runners start on the school track and continue onto a varied route that combines paved roads, athletic fields, sidewalks, and a shaded wooded section with uneven terrain and a few minor natural obstacles. The 1.5-mile option is an untimed six-lap walk around the school track.
A community day accompanies the running events with activities and resources such as a 3v3 basketball tournament, kids activities and games, student performances, community resource tables, food and refreshments, and prizes and T-shirts for participants. Free health and wellness services are available during the community day, including mobile mammography, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, and additional health screenings for students and adults; no insurance is needed for those services. Snacks and beverages are included with registration.
