Together We Run for Education Charity Road Race (Spooky Edition)
Together We Run for Education is a community run and walk around East Hartford High School that supports scholarships, teacher mini grants, and mentoring and networking programs for East Hartford Public Schools. The event includes a community health and education day with free health and wellness services and community resources.
Event distances:
- 5K Road Race: loop course on the school track, paved roads, fields, wooded section
- 1.5 Mile Walk: six laps around the school track
The 5K course stays on the high school campus, beginning on the track and continuing on a varied route that combines paved roads, athletic fields, sidewalks, and a shaded wooded section with uneven terrain and a few minor natural obstacles. The 1.5 mile option is an untimed walk composed of six laps on the track.
The broader community day features 3v3 basketball, kids activities and games, student performances, food and refreshments, t shirts, snacks and beverages included with registration, and prizes for participants. Free health services listed for the day include mobile mammography, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, and additional screenings for students and adults; insurance is not required for those services. The event is presented by community partners and encourages costumes for the Spooky Edition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
