The River Run - Shoreham-by-Sea
The River Run is a Half Marathon organised by UK TRAINING CLUB with start and finish at Adur Recreation Ground in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex. The 2026 edition uses a revised route introduced after a sold-out inaugural event in 2025.
The course begins with a loop of the Adur Rec, follows the path alongside Shoreham Airport, turns right onto the Toll Bridge and continues along the Downs Link to Upper Beeding. The route then passes through the town, crosses a newly built bridge near Bramber, runs behind Bramber Castle and returns along the opposite riverbank to the finish. Runners will be organised into waves to reduce congestion. The official GPX will be updated once the new bridge is confirmed complete.
Terrain is a mix of pathways and very light trail, including the Downs Link, riverside footpaths and town footpaths. Race services include an accurately measured course with clear signage, chip timing, toilets and water stations, fully stocked aid stations, bespoke finisher medals and trophies for the first three finishers. Additional provisions listed by the organiser are race day photography, food and drink trucks, seating for spectators, a free baggage drop next to Race HQ and a complimentary post-race drink or snack at the finishers marquee. A 15 percent group discount applies to entries of six or more. The River Run is the final race in The South Coast Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
