The River Run Half Marathon : Shoreham-by-Sea
The River Run is a Half Marathon staged from the Adur Recreation Ground in Shoreham-by-Sea. The 2026 edition introduces a revised route and serves as the final race of The South Coast Series. The event follows the River Adur corridor and combines riverside footpaths, the Downs Link and town footpaths.
The course starts and finishes at Adur Recreation Ground and includes a loop of the recreation ground, a section alongside Shoreham Airport, passage across the Toll Bridge and a smoother, wider stretch along the Downs Link to Upper Beeding. The route crosses a newly built bridge near Bramber, passes behind Bramber Castle and returns along the opposite riverbank to the finish. Runners are organised into waves to reduce congestion. Terrain is mainly pathway with very light trail sections.
Event services include an accurately measured course with signage, chip timing, marshals and traffic management, toilets on site and along the course, water points and fully stocked aid stations with gels and fruit. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and there are trophies for the first three overall. Additional provisions comprise race day photography, a free baggage drop next to Race HQ, a finishers marquee with complimentary drink or snack and food and drink trucks with seating for spectators. A 15 percent group discount applies to six or more entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
