The River Run Half Marathon : Shoreham-by-Sea
The River Run returns in 2026 as a half marathon based at Adur Recreation Ground in Shoreham-by-Sea. The event follows the River Adur and is listed as the final race in The South Coast Series. The 2025 inaugural event sold out and the 2026 edition includes route updates.
The start and finish remain at Adur Recreation Ground. The planned route begins with a loop of the recreation ground, continues alongside Shoreham Airport, turns onto the toll bridge and follows the Downs Link to Upper Beeding. Runners then pass through the town, cross a newly built bridge near Bramber, pass behind Bramber Castle and return along the opposite riverbank for the final stretch. Runners will be organised into waves to reduce congestion. The official GPX will be updated once the new bridge is confirmed complete.
Race services and facilities listed by the organiser include an accurately measured course with clear signage, chip timing, bespoke medals and trophies for the first three finishers, toilets on site and along the course, water stations and fully stocked aid stations with gels and fruit. Terrain is a mix of pathway and very light trail, including Downs Link, riverside footpaths and town footpaths. Additional provisions include a finishers marquee with a complimentary drink or snack, t shirt collection, food and drink trucks, marshals with traffic management, race day photography, a free baggage drop and a 15% group discount for six entries or more. The listed entry price is £32. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
