The Revolutionary Mile
The Revolutionary Mile is a one-mile road race held on the Boombox Parade route in Willimantic, Connecticut, on July 4, 2026. The event has been run on this parade route since 2003 and uses the same course that passes through a parade setting and the town's America's 250 celebration.
The race distance is 1 mile. Entry is limited to 250 registered runners. Registration opens March 5, 2026 and closes May 25, 2026, with a listed registration fee of $25.00. Race t-shirts are available for those who register by June 18, 2026. Each participant receives a custom themed race number.
The course is USA/TF certified, professionally chip timed, and marked at each quarter mile. Post-race snacks are provided. Awards include top male and female overall, who are not eligible for division awards but remain eligible for the Hometown Hero award, plus top-three division awards for standard age groups and a non-binary division. Special weight-based divisions labeled Zeus and Athena are offered with stated qualifying weights and remain eligible for division awards. The Hometown Hero division is open to current residents of the town of Windham, including Willimantic, North Windham, South Windham, and Windham Center.
