The Retro Run - Long Beach
The Retro Run is a beachside running event on September 27, 2026, at Alamitos Beach, 780 E Shoreline Ave, Long Beach, CA. The event offers multiple race distances on out and back courses that begin and end at the same location along the beach path. The courses remain on the pedestrian side of the path and are not closed to the public, so runners share the route with others using the path.
Distances include:
- 5K : one lap of the 5k route along the beach path.
- 10K : two laps of the 5k route.
- 10 Mile : two laps of the 5 mile route.
- Half Marathon : two laps of the 5 mile route plus one lap of the 5k route.
On-course support includes two water stations and restrooms, and turns are marked with chalk, signs, and flags. Participants are asked to wear their race bib on the front of their shirt. A staffed gear check is available at the registration tent; participants should bring their own bag. Parking options include a paid lot and free street parking; participants in the half and 10 mile races may use the Passport app for lot payment. All finishers receive a race medal and overall first place male and female finishers in each distance receive first place medals.
