The Rehab Rover Canicross and Trail Race takes place at a working equine rehabilitation facility in Gordonsville, Virginia. The event serves as a fundraiser for Green Dogs Unleashed and features a variety of distances held on the Veterinary Rehabilitation Services of Virginia campus. The 10K and 5K courses are technical trail routes. Runners will encounter uneven terrain, elevation changes, roots, rocks, mowed fields, and narrow paths. These routes also include shallow water crossings or bridges. For those seeking a different experience, the 1.25-mile Bel-Mutt Stakes offers a fast and flat course.
To manage course congestion, runners start in small teams at timed intervals. The event maintains a "no greet" policy, requiring all dogs to remain on a leash and under control without interacting with other dogs or people. Three water stations are positioned along the course at one-mile intervals.
