About the race
Cville Pride 5K Run and Walk is the inaugural 5K held as part of the Cville Pride festival in Charlottesville, Virginia on September 26, 2026. The event is volunteer led and takes place around FIREFLY Restaurant + Game Room at 1304 E. Market St., Charlottesville, VA 22902.
The course leaves FIREFLY, follows Riverside Ave. to Riverview Park and includes over a mile of flat, paved trail by the river. The route then uses a short gravel section near Hogwaller Brewing and Rivanna River Company, returns to the Woolen Mills neighborhood on Caroline Ave., continues to Fairway Ave., proceeds downhill on Chesapeake, and turns onto Meade Ave. back to FIREFLY.
Registration opens July 1, 2026 and closes September 19, 2026. The registration fee is $35.00 and all proceeds from registrations go to Cville Pride. The event is presented as part of festival activities that promote equality through events, education, outreach, and advocacy.
Packet pick up is available Friday, September 25 between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm at FIREFLY, and on race day morning from 7:00 am to 7:45 am at the same location. There is a small parking lot at FIREFLY; additional public parking is available along Meade Ave., E. Market St., nearby streets, and Meade Park. Organizers encourage carpooling.
