Cedar Mountain Rally 5k & 10k : Rapidan, VA
The Cedar Mountain Rally is a community running event held on September 26, 2026, at 9465 General Winder Rd in Rapidan, Virginia. The race is the Cedar Mountain Battlefield Foundation’s first organized run and is presented to raise funds for the foundation’s stewardship, preservation, and interpretation of the Cedar Mountain Battlefield.
The Cedar Mountain Battlefield spans 160 acres and combines historical significance with natural features. The site marks a Civil War battle from August 9, 1862, and also functions as a nature reserve and community park. The area includes well-maintained trails, wooded and open areas, and supports a variety of wildflowers and bird species. The park is open to the public and is used by birding enthusiasts, dog walkers, and runners.
Event options include in-person distances and virtual entries. Race proceeds support the Cedar Mountain Battlefield Foundation’s work to maintain and preserve the site for the community.
