About the race
The Railway Ultra is a multi-distance running event staged along the River Severn from Ironbridge to Bridgnorth, using a disused railway line with striking river views and hints of industrial heritage. Runners choose from 9 miles, 13.1 miles (half marathon), 19 miles (3/4 marathon), 28 miles, or 37 miles, each out-and-back lap totaling 9.4 miles, with a well-stocked aid station every 4.7 miles. The course HQ is on the disused railway behind The Woodbridge Public House in Coalport, Telford.
Known for its scenic atmosphere and support, the event offers pubs and accommodation. It returns in 2026 for Winter and Summer editions with a 7-hour cut-off. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
