The Railway Ultra
The Railway Ultra is a multi-distance running event held along the banks of the River Severn between Ironbridge and Bridgnorth. The route follows a disused railway line, offering riverside views and visible traces of local industrial heritage. Each out-and-back lap measures 9.4 miles and there is a well stocked aid station approximately every 4.7 miles. The event uses a 7 hour cut off for all distances.
Available distances include:
- 9 Miles
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 19 Miles (3/4 Marathon)
- 28 Miles
- 37 Miles
Event headquarters is located at TF8 7JF on the disused railway behind The Woodbridge Public House. Parking is a 10 minute walk away at the Coalport China Museum and at Coalport YHA and charges may apply. Several pubs and the Coalport YHA lie within about 1 mile of the start.
Minimum age requirements are stated for some distances: the ultra distances are open to entrants aged 18 and over, and the half marathon is open to entrants aged 17 and over. Entry fees vary by distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
