Event Details
The Rad Race is a running and biking event taking place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at H-Town BMX on Kuykendahl Road in Houston, Texas. The event is presented by Rad Racing Company to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the movie RAD. It is held in partnership with H-Town BMX and Northside BMX Park.
Activities
The event includes several races and activities:
- RR 5k: A 5 km running race.
- RR 10k: A 10 km running race.
- Kids Dash: A dash for children aged 1 to 10.
- Bike Race Experience: A cycling event.
- Rad Zone: A non-racing activity.
A "Volunteer then Run" option is available for a discounted registration. There are also virtual running options for 5k and 10k distances.
Schedule
A race day schedule is provided. It includes packet pickup, a pre-race warm-up, a best attire contest, the national anthem, the start of the Kids Dash at 8:15 AM, and the start of the 5k/10k at 8:30 AM. Packet pickup is also available in the days before the race.
Awards
Awards are given for the 5k and 10k races. These include overall, masters (40+), and grand masters (60+) winners for men and women. Awards are also given to the top three men and women in various age groups. Overall award winners receive a free entry to the next year's event.
Additional Information
All event participants receive a custom race shirt, a finisher's medal, and a race bib. The event is subject to weather conditions. A strict no-refund policy is in place, though participants may be able to switch to a virtual option if needed. There is also a fundraising component with incentives.
