The Quest! Adventure Race - Auburn, California
The Quest! is a fantasy-themed trail event set for March 13, 2027 at Ponderosa Cider Co in Auburn, California. Runners roll a virtual D20 before the race to determine a character class that provides a unique ability and party bonus. The first roll is recorded and each participant may roll only once.
The event uses an adjusted finish time that starts with an added baseline penalty and is reduced by completed side quests. Side quests are placed along the route and include riddles, scavenger hunts, physical challenges, and locating missing Goblins. Each completed side quest reduces overall time by at least five minutes. Legendary boss encounters appear on course and offer additional rewards. At the finish area participants turn in quest items, roll dice, and receive final results; an overall champion is named.
Gear and included items are specified. Required or recommended personal items include a camera phone, a backpack or pack, and a water bottle. Registered entrants receive a custom D20, a trail map with quest details, a runners bib, a commemorative T-shirt, and a post-run beer or cider. Entry cost is listed as $64 and includes the D20, a T-shirt, and a post-run cider.
