The Quest! Adventure Run

The Quest! is a fantasy-themed trail running event held in Auburn, California. This event combines traditional trail running with role-playing elements, where final results are determined by a combination of running speed and the completion of various in-game objectives. Participants navigate secret routes through local trails, starting and ending at Ponderosa Cider Co.

Available distances include:

• Sprint: A course of at least 6 miles with over 500 feet of elevation gain.
• Odyssey: A course of at least 12 miles with upwards of 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Before the event, attendees roll a virtual twenty-sided die (D20) to be assigned a character class, such as Frog Knight, Warrior, Rogue, Cleric, or Knight. Each class possesses specific abilities and potential party bonuses that can influence the final adjusted finish time. Participants can form parties of two to three runners to unlock further time-reduction bonuses.

The course features interactive elements including side quests and boss encounters. Side quests may involve solving riddles, scavenger hunts, physical challenges, or locating hidden items. Every finisher receives a custom D20 die, an event t-shirt, a trail map, and a post-run beverage.
