The Pike
The Pike is an inclusive, flexible eight hour running event held in Rivington, UK. Participants aim to run as many loops of a 5 km course as they can within the eight hour time limit. The course mixes roads and trails and includes about 204 m (669 ft) of ascent on each loop as runners repeatedly ascend Rivington Pike. All participants receive a finishing time and a medal regardless of how many laps they complete.
Results show the number of laps completed, the total distance and the elapsed time. There is a results leaderboard and course records. Any laps not finished before the cut off time are not included in the final results.
Entry information notes an entry fee of £36 and a scheduled event date of Sep 11th 2027. Race bibs are collected at registration on the morning of the event. Under 12s are not permitted to take part. Runners aged 12 to 15 must have a parent or guardian contact the organiser and the parent or guardian must attend the event.
The start and finish area serves as the singular aid station and spectator area. The aid station offers water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes. A bag drop is available and runners are asked to bring their own bottle as cups will not be provided. The route is not closed so runners may encounter walkers and dogs and trail shoes are recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
