The Piasa - Pere Marquette State Park, Grafton, IL
The Piasa is a trail running event held at Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton, IL (13112 Visitors Center Ln). The event offers three distance options on natural singletrack through bluffs and forested ravines.
Distances
- 12.5K : shorter technical trail distance.
- 25K : sustained climbing and technical terrain over longer laps.
- 50K : extended route with long climbs and more than 4,000 feet of cumulative elevation gain.
The course runs on rugged bluff-top and ravine trails with technical footing and demanding descents. Runners should expect sustained climbs and variable trail surfaces that require attention and footing management.
Entries may be submitted in two competition formats. The Solo Division is for individual runners. The Buddy Division pairs two runners who remain together on course as a team.
Logistics and policies note that registration closes on Fri, May 15 at 6:00 PM CT. The event does not offer refunds; a medical deferral option is available for the following calendar year only, valid for 50% of the entry fee and requiring a medical note.
