The Peake Run - Our Big Ducking 60th Anniversary Run at the Maryland Seafood Festival
The Peake Run is a race day at East Beach in Annapolis held alongside the Maryland Seafood Festival on the same day. The event offers three distances: a featured 10K (listed as 6 miles), a 5K, and a one mile fun run or walk. The course is a down and back route beginning at the beach and continues along the Broadneck Peninsula Trail, with views of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Races finish on the sands of the Chesapeake Bay beside the World's Largest Rubber Duck, described as 60 feet tall and 70 feet long.
Participants receive a finisher medal, an official event shirt, and same day admission to the Maryland Seafood Festival, including access to post-race food, drinks, and live music. Packet pickup occurs during the week of the race; same-morning pickup is not offered. Parking is managed by the State of Maryland at Sandy Point State Park and is available as a paid add-on at the time of registration.
A portion of proceeds will benefit local nonprofit organizations focused on protecting the Chesapeake Bay. Event organizers note that distances and start arrangements may adjust slightly for logistics, and the event is planned to proceed rain or shine.
