Celtic Solstice Five-Miler
The Celtic Solstice is a running event celebrating its 25th anniversary in Baltimore. The race takes place within the grounds of Druid Hill Park, featuring a course that is contained entirely inside the park borders. Participants can choose between two primary participation options:
- 5 Miles: An in-person running race on a unique route.
- Virtual Five-Miler: A remote option allowing participants to run from any location.
The organization of the event involves volunteers from various local running groups. After the race, an outdoor gathering takes place. This post-race event includes traditional elements such as bagpipe music and the presence of Irish Wolfhounds.
Food and beverages are provided to participants following the run. The selection includes hot soup, hot coffee, and hot chocolate. Additionally, hot Wassail Wine is served as part of the celebration. The event is scheduled for mid-December, coinciding with the holiday season and the winter solstice period. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
