Event overview
The Parklands & WLKY 5K is scheduled for June 6, 2026, at Beckley Creek Park in Louisville, KY (1421 Beckley Creek Parkway). The event is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series. It supports the annual maintenance and operations of The Parklands of Floyds Fork, a visitor-and-donor supported public park system that receives no tax dollars, is open 365 days a year, and records nearly 4 million visits each year. Both in-person and virtual participation options are offered.
Course, entries and logistics
The event is a 3.1-mile (5K) run/walk that begins and ends at the Egg Lawn at Beckley Creek Park. The course combines road sections with the Louisville Loop trail. Race entry includes a short-sleeve tech shirt, a finisher medal, free race photography, and post-race refreshments. The 5K is chip timed using a disposable timing chip adhered to the back of the race bib; participants should wear the bib on the stomach or chest for accurate timing and photography.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top three male and female in age groups from 9 & Under up to 80 & over. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Pavilion in Beckley Creek Park, with additional pickup the morning of the event. Virtual participants may submit results between June 5 and June 8. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
