About the race
The Moon Run takes place at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville, Tennessee on December 6, 2026. The event is organized by Wallace Memorial Church to raise support for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for global missions. The run is planned to occur by the light of the Moon; headlamps, flashlights, glow sticks and night time running gear are encouraged.
Distances offered:
- 5K timed race on paved greenways, out and back course, non-certified.
- 1 Mile non-timed fun run around the Victor Ashe soccer fields, no awards.
The 5K course starts and finishes at the Victor Ashe pavilion and runs along the paved greenway through the frisbee golf area, connects to the crosswalk to the Northwest Middle School greenway, loops the lower loop, and returns to the pavilion. The 5K will have overall and age group awards. Age divisions are 10 and under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and up.
Packet pickup is available on race day at the Victor Ashe pavilion. Registration opens September 15, 2026 and closes December 6, 2026. Registration fees are $35.00 for the 5K and $30.00 for the 1 Mile run. Anyone registering after November 8, 2026 will receive shirts while supplies last; the shirt order will be placed on November 9 and no additional shirts will be ordered once supplies are exhausted.
