Event
The Dirty South Trail Races take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Mead's Quarry near Ijams Nature Center in Knoxville, TN (35.952443N, -83.865344W). The event includes the following distances:
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- 10K
- Kids Trail Mile
Registration fees listed on the event page are $73.36 for the half marathon, $62.88 for the 10K, and $8.60 for the kids mile. Registration is non-refundable and bib transfers are not allowed. Results will be posted on the Knoxville Track Club website and on RunSignUp.
Course and policies
The half marathon course traverses the Forks of the River Wildlife Area, William Hastie Park, Marie Myers Park, Ross Marble Quarry, Ijams Nature Center, and other areas of the South Knoxville Urban Wilderness. Trails include a mix of rocky, technical single track and buffed, flowing mountain bike trail. The half marathon has a four-hour time limit.
Safety and course policies: no headsets, earphones, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades, or pets on course. Aid stations will provide very small cups; runners are encouraged to carry their own water. Runners under 12 must be accompanied by an adult to enter an adult race. An 18:00/mile minimum pace will be enforced and a sweeper will operate on the course. Special tech shirts will be ordered; shirts for registrations after November 12 are limited to remaining inventory and will not be mailed.
