The Midwest Ultra Track Classic
The Midwest Ultra Track Classic is a community-focused timed running event held at the Warrensburg High School Track in Warrensburg, Missouri. The competition takes place on a standard 400-meter track, providing a smooth and predictable surface. Participants can choose from several timed durations, and the event features electronic chip timing with live lap counting to track progress throughout the weekend.
The event offers several distance and team options:
- 24 Hour
- 24 Hour Relay (2-4 members)
- 12 Hour
- 6 Hour
- 3 Hour
The course follows a track format where each lap is officially counted as 0.25 miles. To receive credit for a lap, runners must complete the full 400-meter circuit before their specific time limit expires; partial laps are not included in the final distance. For safety and physical balance, the direction of travel on the track changes every four hours.
Participants have access to a trackside aid station every lap, which provides water, electrolytes, ice, and various snacks such as fruit, pretzels, and PB&J sandwiches. Hot food, including broth and ramen, is served at specific intervals during the overnight and early morning periods. A designated tent village area allows runners to set up personal tents, tables, and coolers for their support crews. While crews are permitted in the tent village, pacers, pets, and strollers are not allowed on the track. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each individual category, with a specific belt buckle available for those who achieve 100 miles.
