The Metropolitan 5K
The Metropolitan 5K is an event held on Juneteenth in Atlanta at 1995b Metropolitan Parkway Southwest, GA 30315. The event is organized by E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness and Cause of E.F.F.E.C.T, a 501(c)(3), and is presented as a community-focused Juneteenth celebration that highlights physical activity and mental wellness in underserved communities. Proceeds support programs such as the Back 2 School Drive and the Holiday Giveback with Atlanta Public School students.

Registration fees vary by registration period, starting at $27 and rising to $60. There is no race registration on race day. Race entries include a race-day t-shirt and medal for the first 1,500 registrants and age-group finisher awards while supplies last. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to the top male and female in each age group; award results are based on net time and only timed runners qualify.
The virtual 5K permits participants to complete the distance anywhere and submit results and photos via the registration system; virtual participants receive a commemorative shirt and medal after the event.
