Event Details
The Metropolitan 5K is a 5 km road race in Atlanta, Georgia. It is the sixth annual edition of the event and is held on Juneteenth. The event supports health and wellness awareness in underserved communities and is organized by E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness and Cause of E.F.F.E.C.T, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The race is a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race.
Registration and Inclusions
Registration pricing follows a tiered schedule from February to June. The fee includes a race day t-shirt and a medal for the first 2000 registrants. There is no race day registration. An in-person race and a virtual option are available.
Awards and Rules
Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers and to the top male and female finishers in each age group, based on net time. The race is open to participants aged 15 and older. All runners must have a bib number and must run within a designated coned path.
Proceeds and Logistics
All proceeds from the race fund programs such as a Back to School Drive and a Holiday Giveback for Atlanta Public School students. Race bib and t-shirt pickup begins on June 1, 2026, at E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness. On race day, there is no parking at the fitness center; parking is available at the nearby Metro Lane Fun Center on a first-come, first-served basis.
