The event is presented by E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness and Cause of E.F.F.E.C.T, a 501(c)(3), and marks the sixth annual edition. The event is organized to commemorate Juneteenth and to raise awareness of the health benefits of physical activity and mental wellness, with a focus on underserved communities.
Event formats and distances include:
- 5K road race (timed; Peachtree Road Race qualifier)
- Virtual 5K with online result submission

- Metro5k Senior Walk for registrants aged 65 and older
Race registration varies by event and registration period; there is no race registration on race day. Race day registration packages note that a race t-shirt and race medal are provided to the first 1500 registrants and the first 1500 registered finishers respectively. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to top male and female finishers in each age group; awards are based on net time and only timed runners qualify.
Race operations include multiple bib and t-shirt pick-up locations in the days before the event. The event notes that participants must remain inside the coned course, that only registered participants with a bib may run, and that organizers and city officers may remove participants for reasons deemed necessary. The event is open to participants aged 15 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
