Blast 5km Series at The Meadows
The Blast 5km Series at The Meadows is a monthly mid-week lunchtime 5K held in The Meadows, Edinburgh. The course is a flat, officially measured and licensed 5K route based at East Meadows Play Park on Melville Drive. The series runs on selected Tuesdays in 2026, including 17 February, 17 March, 12 May, 6 October and 22 December.
Entry fees are listed as £7 standard and £9 for non-members, with a £2 insurance levy applying to non-Scottish Athletics members. An optional finisher's medal is available for an additional £5. Results are submitted to Run Britain Rankings and Scottish Athletics. Prizes are awarded for first male and female in each age category for online entries.
The event is open to runners aged 11 and above. Organiser capacity is stated as 250 participants. The series supports local charities, with £1 per runner donated and past donations noted; the January event donation in 2025 totalled £92 to Social Bite. On Shrove Tuesday, 17 February, finishers were offered pancakes and coffee.
