Event overview
20 Along the Forth is a 20-mile marathon training run organised by Blast Running on Saturday 21 March 2026. The event is open to participants aged 17 and over. Entry fee is £26.50, which can include an optional £1 charity donation. Entry is limited to a maximum of 1,000 runners. The event supports The MS Society Scotland. Wave starts are used to group runners by target finish time.
Route and race services
The start and registration are at Cargilfield School, 45 Gamekeeper’s Road, Barnton, Edinburgh. The route begins at the school, passes through Dalmeny Estate, goes into South Queensferry, crosses the Forth Road Bridge, and returns to Barnton. The surface is approximately 75% tarmac and 25% runnable estate roads, with about 1,150 ft of overall undulation. There are no road closures for this event. The course is fully marked and marshalled. Water stations are provided at miles 5.5 and 14.5. A pasta and movie event is scheduled for 20 March for £7, including pasta, pizza and a screening of Brittany Runs a Marathon.
