Event Overview
20 Along the Forth is a 20-mile running event on Saturday, 21 March 2026. It is designed as a training run for those preparing for a spring marathon or ultra marathon. The event also raises funds for The MS Society Scotland, with a donation made per runner.
Route and Course
The run starts at Cargilfield School in Barnton, Edinburgh. The scenic route goes through Dalmeny Estate, into South Queensferry, and across the Forth Road Bridge before returning to the start. The course is approximately 75% tarmac and 25% runnable estate roads, with a total elevation gain of 1,150 feet. The route is fully marked and marshalled. There are no road closures for this event.

The event uses wave starts grouped by expected finish time. Water stations are provided at miles 5.5 and 14.5. A pasta party is offered the night before the run for an additional fee.
