Event overview

20 Along the Forth is a 20-mile marathon training run taking place on Saturday 21 March 2026. The event is organised by Blast Running and starts and registers at Cargilfield School, 45 Gamekeeper’s Road, Barnton, Edinburgh. Entry is limited to a maximum of 800 runners and the minimum age is 17.

Course and logistics

The route goes from Cargilfield School through Dalmeny Estate, into South Queensferry, across the Forth Road Bridge and returns to Barnton. The surface is approximately 75% tarmac and 25% runnable estate roads, with about 1,150 ft of overall undulation. There are no road closures for the event. The course is fully marked and marshalled. Water stations are provided at miles 5.5 and 14.5. The event uses wave starts.

Entry and charity

Standard entry is priced at £26.50. The event supports The MS Society Scotland and the entry fee can include an optional charity donation. A pasta and movie evening is held the night before for £7. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
