East Fortune Duathlon
The TriWorks East Fortune Duathlon takes place at the East Fortune motor racing circuit in East Lothian. Entering its fourth year, the event is held on a 11m wide motor racing track consisting of smooth tarmac with sweeping bends. The course is flat and is known for being the only draft-legal multisport race in Scotland.
Participants can choose from various formats depending on their experience and preference. The sprint distance events follow a run-bike-run format, while specific super sprint distances are designated for junior age groups.
The event offerings include:
- Draft-Legal Sprint: 5 km run, 20 km bike, and 2.5 km run.
- Non-Drafting Sprint: 5 km run, 20 km bike, and 2.5 km run.
- Tristar 1 (Ages 9-10): 1000 m run, 2.3 km bike, and 500 m run.
- Tristar 2 (Ages 11-12): 1400 m run, 4.6 km bike, and 700 m run.
- Tristar 3 (Ages 13-14): 1800 m run, 6.9 km bike, and 900 m run.
- Youth (Ages 15-16): 2200 m run, 13.8 km bike, and 1100 m run.
The Draft-Legal Sprint serves as a qualifier for the 2027 European Sprint Distance Duathlon Championships and as the 2026 Scottish Duathlon Championship. It also forms part of the Scottish Student Sport Triathlon Championship. All participants must hold a valid home nation race license or purchase a British Triathlon race pass. Finisher's medals and race t-shirts are optional to reduce environmental impact. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
