East Fortune Duathlon 21 March 2027
The East Fortune Duathlon takes place at the East Fortune race track on the historic East Fortune airfield in East Lothian, about 20 miles east of Edinburgh. The event uses a closed motor racing circuit with smooth tarmac, flat surfaces and sweeping bends. The 2027 event is the fifth running and includes both draft-legal and non-drafting race waves, with separate Open and Female draft-legal races.
Race formats include:
- Sprint: Run 1 5 km, Bike 20 km, Run 2 2.5 km
- Super Sprint and Junior races: Run 1 1–2.2 km, Bike 2–14 km, Run 2 0.5–1.1 km
Junior categories cover Tristar 1, 2 and 3 and Youth age groups for competitors aged 9 to 16. The event notes age categories from 8 to 80. Chip timing is provided. Race village is inside the track and there is free onsite car parking. Trains run from Edinburgh Waverley to Drem station approximately every 30 minutes.
Athlete information and full course maps are available to entrants. Competitors must register at least 30 minutes before their race, transition closes 15 minutes before a race, and attendance at the race briefing 10 minutes before the start is mandatory. Full medical cover is provided. Wooden finisher medals are available if requested at entry; race T-shirts can be purchased. Students receive a £10 discount on entry with a valid matriculation card.
