The Me Awesome Run
The Me Awesome Run is the inaugural 5K and 10K run and walk held on May 17, 2026. The in-person portion takes place at Hellyer County Park, 985 Hellyer Avenue, San Jose, CA 95111, and virtual participation is available from any location.
The event offers two distance options listed below:
- 5K - in-person and virtual, registration fee $40
- 10K - in-person and virtual, registration fee $45
The organizer notes a family-oriented setting: strollers are welcome and grandparents are encouraged to attend. The description emphasizes community participation and multiple ways to join, including walking or running the course or taking part remotely.
Proceeds support families affected by Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a pediatric brain tumor. Funds are intended to help ease financial burdens by covering needs such as housing, transportation, utilities, groceries, and end-of-life expenses.
