Event Overview
The Maverick North Downs Trail event takes place on Saturday, 27 June 2026 at Cranleigh Showground in Surrey. The event offers five different trail running routes through the Surrey Hills.
Available Routes
Participants can choose from the following distances and elevation gains:
- 50k Ultra: 52 km with +1387 m of elevation.
- Marathon: 43 km with +1104 m of elevation.
- Half Marathon: 22 km with +597 m of elevation.
- Middle: 11 km with +317 m of elevation.
- Short: 5 km with +97 m of elevation.
Route Details
The routes explore the North Downs Way and areas including Winterfold Forest, Hurtwood Forest, Pitch Hill, Leith Hill, and Ranmore Common. The terrain consists of forest and single-track trails. Cut-off times are in place for the 50k Ultra and Marathon routes for participant safety. Online entry closes on the Wednesday before the event.
Event Services
The course is fully marked and timed. Outposts on the longer routes provide water, sweet and savoury snacks, and electrolyte drinks. A bag drop area is available. Participants receive online results, event photography, and a metal finisher's medal. Non-alcoholic beer is provided at the finish. Free parking is available at the venue.
Participant Requirements
The event operates a 'bring your own cup' policy for environmental reasons. Mandatory kit for the 50k Ultra and Marathon includes a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, 800 calories of food, at least 1 litre of water, a foil blanket, a whistle, a self-adhering elastic bandage, a cap or buff, and a reusable cup.
