Maverick North Downs Trail 2027 : Cranleigh, Surrey
The Maverick North Downs Trail takes place on Saturday 19 June 2027 at Cranleigh Showground in Surrey. The event runs across trails through ancient forest and rolling fields, with notable sections including Winterfold, Hurtwood Forest and views from Pitch Hill and Leith Hill via the North Downs Way. The terrain is described as undulating forest trails with a number of punchy hills.
Available distances:
- 50k Ultra: 53 km, +1398 m elevation
- Marathon: 43 km, +1113 m elevation
- Half Marathon: 23 km, +598 m elevation
- Middle: 12 km, +332 m elevation
- Short: 5 km, +83 m elevation
The event provides a fully marked course, Precision Fuel and Hydration outposts, full timing and online results. On site amenities include free parking, a bag drop, event photography, a metal finishers medal and an event village with food and drink including a complimentary non alcoholic beer.
Outpost provision varies by route. The Short and Middle routes have no outpost. The Half Marathon has one outpost at about 12 km with a toilet. The Marathon has three outposts and the 50k Ultra has four outposts. Outposts offer snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks and aim to be cup free so runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle.
Cut off points apply to the 50k Ultra and Marathon and are enforced without exception. The Ultra and Marathon require mandatory kit including a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, at least 800 calories, a minimum of 1 litre of water, a foil blanket, whistle, self adherent bandage, cap or buff and a reusable cup.
