The Maverick North Downs Trail 2026
The Maverick North Downs Trail takes place on Saturday 27 June 2026 at Cranleigh Showground in Cranleigh, Surrey. The event offers five marked trail routes through ancient woodland and rolling fields, using single track trails and sections of the North Downs Way.
Routes pass through Winterfold and Hurtwood Forest and include viewpoints such as Pitch Hill. Longer routes also go via Leith Hill and Ranmore Common. Terrain is mainly undulating forest trails with several steep, short climbs.
Available routes:
- 50k Ultra: 52 km, +1387 m
- Marathon: 43 km, +1104 m
- Half Marathon: 22 km, +597 m
- Middle: 11 km, +317 m
- Short: 5 km, +97 m
The event provides free parking, a fully marked course, timed results, event photography, bag drop, a metal finisher medal and food and drink on site. Precision fuel and hydration outposts supply snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks; outposts are absent on Short and Middle routes, one appears on the Half route, three on the Marathon and four on the 50k Ultra.
For safety there are enforced cut off points on the 50k Ultra and Marathon. The 50k Ultra and Marathon require mandatory kit including a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, minimum 1 litre of water, 800 calories, a foil blanket and a whistle.
