Serpent Trail Ultra Run
The Serpent Trail Ultra Run is a guided 30-mile trail run starting and finishing in Haslemere, Surrey. The event fee is £45 per person and tickets for listed dates are currently sold out. It is run as a group rather than a race and is led by an experienced ultra runner and coach. Participants are advised to have completed at least 22 miles in training and to be able to sustain an average pace of 10 min/mile (6 min/km) for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided and trail shoes are available to test if requested during registration.
Route and logistics
The route takes in sections of the Serpent Trail and the Sussex Border Path, heading from Haslemere toward Blackdown and past the Temple of the Winds lookout, which offers views of the South Downs. The course crosses fields, ancient woodland, rare heathland and valleys, and uses a variety of trails. There is parking available close to the meeting point and the train station is nearby; the start is a short run or taxi ride from the station. An alcohol-free beer may be offered at the end of the run, subject to availability. Further event information is sent to participants in advance.
