Serpent Trail Ultra Run
This is a guided trail run starting and finishing in Haslemere, Surrey, covering 30 miles. The route follows some of the best sections of the Serpent Trail and the Sussex Border Path and may include hilly terrain. The course passes Blackdown and the Temple of the Winds lookout with views towards the South Downs, then continues across fields, ancient woodland, rare heathland and valleys. A refreshment break is included along the route.
The event is led by an experienced ultra runner, mountain leader and coach and is organised as a group run rather than a race. Participants are advised to have completed at least 22 miles in training and to be able to sustain an average pace around 10 minutes per mile or 6 minutes per kilometre on trails for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided. Practical details: the meet point is in Haslemere where there are nearby car parks and a train station a short run or taxi ride away; Haslemere lies on the main line between London and Portsmouth. Entry cost is £45 per person. Organisers will provide further event information to participants before the run.
