The Mary Ruchalski Foundation 5K & Fun Run
The Mary Ruchalski Foundation 5K & Fun Run is a community sports event held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York. The event serves as a fundraiser to support pediatric cancer research and families impacted by pediatric cancer. Participants utilize the grounds of Eisenhower Park, a 930-acre recreation area in Nassau County featuring a USATF Certified course.
Participants can choose from several event formats:
- 5K Run (In-person)
- 1 Mile Fun Run (Untimed, walking permitted)
- Virtual 5K (Completed independently)
The in-person 5K includes a t-shirt and a personalized bib for those who register by the specified March deadline. The event is held rain or shine, starting near Field 2 and Parking Lot 2. Amenities for participants include bottled water, raffles, and the chance to win a gift card.
The race provides live online, email, and text results along with free finish line photographs and video. Awards are presented to the top male and female overall finishers, who receive a trophy. Additionally, medals are awarded to the top male and female finishers in various age categories ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over. Virtual participants have an eight-day window to complete their distance and upload their times and photos to the official results page.
